This software is designed and built for digital design. Mad props to you! Learn that and you'll easily be able to then transition to any other UI tool if needed (Adobe XD, Invision Studio, Figma, etc). Google if you're not sure how something works, and they have a very comprehensive user guide on their site. Sketch is quick and easy and lacks a lot of stuff, but it's plug-ins means it's really catching up quickly. Sketch also has hundreds of free plugins for designers to make work more efficient and less repetitive. Axure is great for detailed annotated wireframes and has an invision-like tool built in. it's absolutely a million miles from Illustrator in terms of depth, difficulty and abilities (although it's catching up). Of course you’re always going to need some kind of photo editing program if you’re working with photos in your application that require editing. Sketch and InVision are by far superior products imo. On the job, I started using sketch for wireframing, which is pretty easy to use coming from Axure. We all as digital designers started off in Adobe Photoshop and learned our trade using (what was) ground-breaking technology back in the day, but over time the software has become bulky, dated, and problematic – that’s simply because it was originally only designed for just photo editing, not pushed to the extent in which websites and mobile apps can now be designed within it.
